To preserve, document, analyze, and publish the history of the Reed, Tidrow, Spillman, Hufford, and allied families using modern genealogical standards while making the research available through multiple public platforms.
About the Project
Midwestern Genealogist is a long-term family history and archival project dedicated to preserving the lives, stories, and historical records of multiple Midwestern family lines. The project combines traditional genealogical research with modern technology to create thoroughly documented biographies, organize historical photographs, preserve original records, and share discoveries with relatives and fellow researchers.
The website serves as the central archive for this work and is supported by companion projects on Facebook, Instagram, X, WikiTree, FamilySearch, and Ancestry.
Research Philosophy
Every conclusion published through Midwestern Genealogist is based on documented evidence whenever possible. Original records, historical context, photographs, newspapers, military records, cemetery records, and other primary and secondary sources are evaluated carefully before information is published.
The goal is not simply to build a family tree, but to reconstruct the lives of the individuals within it.
